The Optix Team on Working From Home

We’ve all been working from home officially for over a week now and the Optix team are getting into the swing of it. The team wanted to let you all know how we’re getting on, so we’ve done a little interview – fair warning, it’s not all sunshine and roses as we’re all humans, but there is a hell of a lot of positivity floating round our team at the moment so enjoy!

Thoughts about working from home

“Still getting used to it, but getting better every day.”
“I’ve been busier than ever, supporting the whole team and helping them be brilliant.”
“Okay, but a bit lonely.”
“It’s been an adjustment – I really appreciate the amount of face time we are able to continue to have even though we’re working remotely.”
“One moment I’m fine, then the next I think I’ll never leave and am trapped here forever.”

Top tips from the team for working from home

“Get a routine, plan your time well and set goals. Remember to reflect on what went well each day, what were the 3 best things?”
“Take a break completely away from your screen (including the TV) and go for a walk or do some exercise. You need some downtime.”
“Get a routine in place and set up your work space every day as if you were in the office. Set a timer to ensure you take regular breaks (these would normally be chats in and around the office).”
“Move around the house, don’t sit in the same place and don’t snack too much.”
“Make sure you have breaks. It’s super easy to sit there and before you know it you’ve worked the entire day and haven’t got up!”

What our team is going to be focusing on in the coming weeks

“Figure out a daily routine that works for me and keep giving value to my clients.”
“Catching up on longer tasks in a peaceful environment.”
“I hope to settle into a more predictable way of working to allow me to make more progress on individual tasks.”
“Upskilling myself on technology!”
“Continuing to maintain a high level of comms between teammates and clients.”

Our favourite quotes or positive thoughts to share

“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
“A plan is only as good as those who see it through.”
“This too shall pass.”
“You can’t control what’s going on around you, but you can control your reactions and the way you approach situations.”

Some final thoughts for you!

“Everyone is being really positive and that is important at such a difficult time for us all.”
“All the Optix team have been great and very supportive.”
“We’re stronger together.”

So that’s it from us, how are you finding your new working set up? What are your top tips or favourite quotes? Please do let us know, we’re trying to ‘over communicate’ at the moment to make sure we all still feel in touch with each other, so feel free to join in!
