We are proud and rather flattered to share that Optix Solutions is a finalist for the Business Services category in the Exeter Living Awards 2020. After being selected by a panel of impartial judges, we’re really pleased to have our successes for 2019 recognised in this way. We do have some stiff competition in our category, but if anything, we’re excited to see so many fantastic businesses thriving in the South West; we’re nominated alongside Cathedral Appointments, Land Rover Experience West Country and Natwest Boost to name a few.
If you’re interested in what got us to this point, take a look at some of our 2019 achievements:
We opened the Optix Digital Academy! This is the first digital marketing academy of it’s kind in the South West, and offers the chance to broaden skillsets amongst peers in similar roles. Our monthly sessions focus on a different digital skill each time, bringing together marketing professionals from local businesses to upskill and make connections, whilst learning from and asking questions of a leader in the field.
We employed 5 new starters, including a new Director, to focus on Operations – the first since the company began 20 years ago – and we’re already brought on a new member of the team to expand our Digital Marketing team further in 2020.
We ran our biggest ever Optix event in February 2019 – our annual Digital Trends Seminar. With over 130 attendees, 2 keynote speakers including James Poulter from Vixen Labs and ex-Lego, and 3 breakout workshops, this event was huge effort from the team and greatly received by the local community: “One of the most useful Marketing events I’ve ever been to, with actionable advice to take away and apply to our own strategies.” This year’s event is on 27th February, so if you’re interested, take a look at the line up.
Finally, in terms of clients, in 2019 we took on more retained clients than ever before, seeing a particular increase in high value monthly retainers. This shows the growth trajectory that Optix is on, looking to work with bigger businesses, expanding in both knowledge and resource to equip us to work with bigger budgets than ever before. We’ve worked on big projects with the Met Office, the NHS (DPT) and the University of Exeter this year – great local players that we’re proud to partner with. A specific example to evidence results with our clients comes from Thirsty Work, the local water cooler provider. When we started our retainer with this company they were receiving a handful of enquiries per month via their website and they are now receiving over 100 per month. We’re continuing this retainer into 2020 with exciting plans for more growth for our client.
That’s enough bragging for now.. wishing all the nominees the best of luck, and look forward to meeting you all later in the year!
