The specialist training is designed to help Exeter retailers upskill their teams with practical skills to increase sales and footfall, helping them thrive in a marketplace that has become increasingly challenging.
Access to this level of marketing expertise would typically cost thousands. However, there is no charge to InExeter members as part of a new pilot scheme as the organisation is funding the courses after agreeing a preferential rate with Optix. Topics cover essential marketing knowhow, from improving understanding of an audience, social media tips and increasing the chances of being found on Google to email marketing and ways of using AI to save time and work smarter.
Sessions will be delivered by senior members of the Optix Solutions team: Head of Digital Jack Warne, Digital Marketing Manager Barnaby St Anton, Senior Digital Marketing Manager for SEO Joe Caley and Senior Digital Marketing Manager for Data Samantha Smith. Between them they have over 40 years of marketing experience and are skilled at explaining marketing concepts in a way that's easy to understand.
Optix Founder, Alastair Banks said: “We’re thrilled to be working with InExeter to offer a practical, engaging marketing training programme designed specifically for independent Exeter businesses. We’re looking forward to sharing our knowledge to help retailers really make the most of their online presence and step ahead of the competition.
Each session is packed with expert advice and tips that will make a real difference to a business’s online presence and ultimately attract more customers. Whether you’re a retail manager, team member or business owner, this is the perfect opportunity to gain fresh ideas and new skills.”
This free training is part of the next chapter for InExeter as defined in its Business Plan for the next five years. The organisation started in 2015 when local businesses came together to form the Business Improvement District (BID). Over the past decade, it has invested over £5 million into the city, enhancing the public realm, supporting local businesses and making Exeter a better place to live, work and visit.
InExeter CEO, Nicola Wheeler said: “Marketing changes incredibly quickly and with the rise of AI, it’s more important than ever that businesses keep ahead of the game. This training is about giving Exeter businesses the tools they need to succeed not just now, but in the future.”
