Optix has been a big part of my marketing career so far, from Jack’s Digital Academy sessions to working closely with Xenia and Luke whilst in a previous in-house role. I have seen the quality of support offered first hand, that’s why I am really proud to be joining the Optix team as a Digital Marketing Manager. Their people focused values have shone through from the start and it’s clear I’m joining a supportive and nurturing environment focused on producing the best possible results for clients.
I’ll be the first to admit a master’s degree in Sports Nutrition is a little unorthodox in the digital marketing world but hear me out, sports nutrition and digital marketing are more similar than you’d think. In both worlds, you’re tasked to draw on your knowledge and expertise to help someone achieve an ambitious goal. The difference is that I’ve switched the skin callipers for automated email journeys and ‘protein per meal’ for ‘cost per click’.
My transition from fitness to marketing started at a local not-for-profit charitable leisure trust where I developed key skills in social media management, email marketing and digital strategy. My proudest achievement here was winning Support Person of the year in 2022 for leading innovative projects and campaigns that increased revenue despite a reduced budget in light of the pandemic. Since then, I’ve honed those skills further whilst working at an international ecommerce start up in the food and drink industry where I lead an organic giveaway that saw our Instagram page grow by ~17k followers in 7 days.
I love the challenge of taking a deep dive into a potential customer’s mindset and lifestyle to appreciate their daily challenges and identifying solutions. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the care and attention spent understanding what makes real people ‘tick’ consistently leading to better campaign results.
Out of hours you’ll find me roleplaying as Enivid the Divination Wizard at my local Dungeons and Dragons table or out running in the beautiful Devon countryside.
