OPTIX SOLUTIONS ANNUAL SEMINAR 2018

It’s now been a full year of working at Optix and I thought it’s time to introduce myself. I’m Curt Lewis, Client Relationship Manager, my background has always been in sales and customer relations. One of my biggest tasks this year is to organise Optix’s Annual Seminar.

It’s only been 11 months since the last Annual Seminar and, with the speed of which the digital landscape is changing, it’s already time for an update.  Luckily we have some great speakers lined up for this year’s seminar to keep you up-to-date with all the changes in digital. Having attended the last two yearly events and being very impressed, the pressure is on for me this year to ensure the same standard is met in February.

The first challenge was picking a venue. We are so fortunate in the South West to have a vast array of beautiful venues to choose from, it was tough weighing up things like travel time, parking, ease of access and room suitability. We eventually decided to go with The Exeter Golf and Country club, their hospitality was excellent in 2016 and Exeter is a great middle ground for the majority of our clients and affiliates.

The second, (and biggest) challenge was deciding how to fit all the great content we have available into one morning. Digital Trends was a must, being such a keen advocate of the same, Alastair Banks, Co-Founder of Optix, is the man for the job, he will be taking us through all the key trends in 2017, and his predictions for 2018.

As more and more companies look towards a digital-first approach to their marketing, we felt that Digital Transformation was more than appropriate. We are delighted to say, Simon Swan, Head of Digital at the Met Office will be speaking on this topic, we all hope to learn something here.

Once our two keynote speakers were confirmed, the next step was deciding which workshops to run. We recently invited Glenn Perason, Director of Augmentum Business Solutions to be a guest speaker at one of our Directors Breakfast on the topic of GDPR. This event was so well received and GDPR is such a hot topic in our industry that it was a no-brainer to ask Glenn to speak again. The next workshop will be covering Business and Data Intelligence, we felt this was especially important as GDPR will potentially reduce the amount of data we have available to market to, getting smart with what you have is more important than ever. This will be run by Phil Husbands, founder of  Saltare.

Finally, the third workshop will be run by myself, Curt Lewis. The lifecycle of websites is getting shorter and I feel like it is so important to plan and analyse a website effectively to make the most of the increasingly more regular investment. Improving my public speaking is also a personal goal of mine for 2018, what better way to work towards this than to start at the deep end early in the year!

The event will be held on the 15h February from 8:30 until 13:30. Tickets are still available and we will welcome anyone who is interested. I can be reached at curt@optixsolutions.co.uk for any additional information or tickets can be booked here: digitaltrends2018.eventbrite.co.uk. We have worked on keeping the ticket price as low as possible and we feel for the amount of valuable content, we have done very well. Don’t forget a ticket includes a Full English breakfast and great local networking opportunities.

I look forward to seeing lots of new and familiar faces on the day.
