Optix have had some exciting news in the office today. We have been shortlisted for an Award by the judges at the Federation of Small Businesses http://www.fsb.org.uk/devon. This is the third year that the FSB have held their annual awards and Optix have been shortlisted for the Enterprise and Endeavour category.
Optix has been selected as a result of our innovative ways in doing business through partnership working and joint ventures alongside the integration of social media through the business. The recession has been tough on us all and we have had to develop a strategy to alleviate the downturn and build upon our strengths. We don’t ‘do’ recession at Optix HQ 🙂
One of the main things we have done is to improve our new ‘people-to-people’ approach. Our Social Media Strategy is central in allowing our staff (not just Account Managers) to communicate with clients & prospective clients on the major social networking sites such as Twitter/LinkedIn/Facebook. This has helped reinforce our Brand values & knowledge which ultimately has lead to strong strategic alliances. Our greatest successes have been in the growth of our partner base which we intend to grow further over the next 12 months. We have built strategic alliances with graphic designers, marketing companies and IT business locally, all of which require partners in web & online services.
We also know that to succeed on the outside we have to invest on the inside. One of our main strategies for business survival (and growth) has been investment in our staff. This has been in the form of training and in listening to and implementing staff ideas. Each member of staff is given the empowerment to “amaze” clients, if they feel there is something they can do to exceed a client’s expectation they are encouraged to do so. Word of mouth and referral is very important to us and we recognise the importance of super-happy clients for this to work.
The awards ceremony will be hosted by David Fitzgerald from BBC Radio Devon on 4th June, in Torquay.
