Earlier this year Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, announced a significant brand and product repositioning under the strapline ‘Making flying better’. This heralded the start of a series of initiatives the forward-thinking team at Flybe will be implementing throughout 2012, to positively differentiate them from their competitors.
One such initiative was the redesign and development of Flybe’s online presence to align them with the new-look branding. Having been successful in a creative pitch against three other agencies to redesign the Flybe homepage, Optix Solutions were delighted to be commissioned to provide creative assets for the rest of the Flybe website. These were used by Flybe’s internal web team to complete the redesign and development of flybe.com.
Flybe’s new site has been designed to appeal to a more sophisticated customer, with the vibrant colours from its previous website being changed to create a more appealing appearance. Photography was updated to include some images of real life Flybe staff – an insight into the ‘personal touch’ customers can expect from the airline.
Impressed with their work, Flybe went on to commission Optix to redesign and provide creative assets for their online adverts, email marketing, PowerPoint templates and Social Media presences. Each creative asset was designed so that it could be easy manipulated by the Flybe’s internal web team, allowing them to update the creative with new photography and offers as and when required.
Speaking about Flybe’s brand and product repositioning, Flybe UK MD Andrew Strong explained ‘Making flying better’ is more than a slogan. “It is a promise to our passengers that we will make flying better, more straightforward and fair. As always, this will be with a quality service-led approach.”
With that in mind, Flybe is a welcome addition to the Optix portfolio and they look forward to developing a long-term working relationship with them.
Optix were delighted to receive the following quote from Flybe Web Manager Kevin Bond on his experience of working with Optix:
“In a business as fast moving as aviation, there are times when airlines like Flybe need to call on external agencies to assist with important projects. Such companies need to be flexible, fully committed to the task and experts in their field. We are fortunate that Optix tick all those boxes and the quality of their work in supporting us with the design and development of flybe.com was such that we are confident that, when the need arises, we can again call on them to help us deliver.”
