Optix Solutions is proud of its association with one of Devon’s leading charities - Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT). In a rural county such as Devon, the air ambulance service is a vital lifeline for those who fall ill or are involved in accidents in remote or difficult to access locations. The service is one of the most highly regarded and best supported charities in the county but is entirely dependent on donations to keep going. Optix were delighted to beat off strong competition to create and develop DAAT’s new web presence. The whole Optix team were involved in producing a site that would not only attract increased donations and fundraising, but also engage and interact with new and existing supporters across the age spectrum. Phase One of DAAT’s new website has just launched and is already proving a huge hit with both supporters and staff. The site is powered by a full Content Management System (CMS), which allows DAAT complete control over what appears on the site and enables it to update information of its activities on a day-to-day basis. Latest news items and fundraising initiatives can be tagged so that they appear on related pages across the site, and Optix have employed the latest Google mapping technology to not only plot the whereabouts of the latest missions flown but also the nature and time of the incident and the hospitals who received the patient(s). The site features a new Donate section now powered by Sage Pay, which allows for simple and secure online donations and registration for Gift Aid, ensuring the 28p that would otherwise go the Government in tax instead stays in DAAT’s coffers. The weekly DAAT lottery is an invaluable source of funding for the charity, and visitors to the site can now check the latest winning numbers and prizes and download a standing order form to become weekly players. Social Media networks are key to spreading messages and news about the work of charities such as DAAT, and the new site features feeds to both Twitter (currently over 400 followers) and Facebook. There is also a special section just for DAAT’s Junior Crew Club. Members can ask the crew questions online and play exclusive games designed by Optix. “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Optix Solutions on both our new website and our email marketing software,” says Sarah Burden, Public Relations manager at DAAT. “Their expertise and advice is second to none, and they are always on the ball with regard to the latest technology and social media solutions.” To have a look at DAAT’s new look website and to make a donation, click here.
