The IT sector will not suffer in any economic downturn, according to the Director of an Exeter firm which has enjoyed a period of unprecedented growth.
Alastair Banks, of Optix Solutions, said the sector was well placed to ride out problems in the market, as demand for IT services continued to grow.
Optix has moved from a small office in the South West Business Centre in Queen Street, where it was founded seven years ago to premises twice the size in New North Road.
The relocation follows a year of unparalleled growth** for Optix Solutions who have recently won a contract to develop a microsite for national firm Reed Employment.
Mr. Banks who employs nine people hope to take on at least another member of staff before the end of the year. He said: "Queen Street was a great place to start up. It was more of an incubation unit. Where we are now is a lot newer and more professional from our point of view.
"We were stifled on our previous site. Our new office is double the size of the old one."
He added: "It's a time when everyone else seems to be having problems".
Reed Employment is huge with 300 branches around the country. We are developing a microsite. That's a testament to what we are doing. For Reed to give us a chance is very good news. It's great that we are taking on that level of client.
"The internet is moving forward so quickly. Where other industries suffer, we are in a good one."
"There are many people selling online. Business is going up at an unprecedented rate every single year."
"People need help from companies like us and we are not looking at any kind of downturn."
