Web design and Internet services firm Optix Solutions has expanded its offices to a larger site on the back of increased work. The firm, previously based at the South West Business Centre in Queen Street, Exeter, has moved to new premises twice the size.
Within walking distance of the new Princesshay shopping quarter, its new office encompasses a total of 1,000 square feet.
The relocation follows the award of a lucrative contract from national firm Reed Employment to design micro websites.
Director Alastair Banks, who employs nine people, now hopes to take on more staff before the end of the year.
He said: "Queen Street was a great place to start up. It was more of an incubation unit.
"Where we are now is a lot newer and more professional from our point of view.
"We were stifled on our previous site. Our new office is double the size of the old one.
"It's a time when everyone else seems to be having problems.
"Reed Employment is huge, with 300 branches around the country. We are developing a microsite.
"That's testament to what we are doing. For Reed to give us a chance is very good news - it's great that we are taking on that level of client.
"The Internet is moving forward so quickly. Where other industries suffer, we are in a good one.
"There are many people selling online. Business is going up at an unprecedented rate every single year.
"Over the past eight years we have built up a reputation for creating attractive, user-friendly web solutions with a positive return on investment.
"Since our incorporation in 1999 we have continued to go from strength to strength and, after another year of unprecedented growth, we decided to make the move into larger premises in order to accommodate the demands of our growing list of customers.
"It's an exciting time here at Optix Solutions."
