Micorsoft have NOTdropped support for IE6. IE6 shipped with XP and MS are committed to providing support for the lifespan of the product, which, with IE6, is the same as XP, so 2014. See here: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2009/08/10/engineering-pov-ie6.aspx
