Search Engine Optimisation (SEO Exeter)
Search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and MSN are responsible for generating the majority of visits to web sites. As such they have become the single most important marketing issue a web site needs to consider.
Search engines visit web sites themselves using automatic software called robots which look for the information that explains what the web site, and its pages, are all about. It then takes this information back to its index, processes it, and compares it with all the other information it has on that particular subject. When deciding how much more relevant the content is or isn't to a particular search query, the search engine, for example Google, considers over 100 different things. One of these considerations is what the rest of the web thinks about you, as shown by the number and quality of the links that point to your site.
The job of building web sites that are considered very relevant to their subject matter is, as a consequence of the above process, very complex indeed, particularly if there is a lot of competition in a particular sector.
Our Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) service is therefore based on three principles:
1. Building web sites in which the content is very visible to these visiting robots
2. Helping you identify the most relevant words and vocabulary to use when writing the content on your site.
3. Helping you attract links from other sites.
SEO is so challenging to do well, that even we look outside for help occasionally, particularly when SEO for a particular client gets complex. Our favourite outside help comes in the form of Google Consultant, Steve Johnston, who is a specialist on Google optimisation - Google in the UK is also the most popular search engine generating much more traffic than Yahoo and MSN therefore we find working with Steve to be beneficial to our client's projects.
